The battery in most Landrover Defenders is under the passenger seat instead of the engine bay, the industry-standard winch power cable length of 1.8m is not long enough to reach so needs to be extended.

One of the most common problems we hear of is where power cables have been extended using inadequate cable or low-grade jump lead cable. This results in significant degradation to the winch performance, overheating, and even a risk of fire.

• Premium quality ELANDFLEX British Standard EN60228 35mm² copper cable with a class 6 extra flexible conductor and heavy PVC flexible insulation.
• Heavy-duty CEMBRE solid copper tube ring terminal lugs, annealed for maximum ductility and tin plated to prevent oxidisation hydraulically crimped on and sheathed with heavy-duty heat shrink-sleeving.
